When heat mingles with Dampness (湿 Shī), the tradition describes a heavy, clinging ground. The “Qing Re Zao Shi” (清热燥湿) family gathers the most frankly bitter roots of the pharmacopoeia, whose marked bitterness signs their belonging to this register.
