Earth Phase

Earth is not a season but the pivot between them all: the fifth season, say the texts, which invites itself into every turn between seasons. It is the centre, transformation (运化 Yun Hua), the sweet flavour. The tradition attaches to it the nurturing matter, golden and round as the harvest.
