Water Phase

Water closes the cycle and begins it again: winter, depth, the setting aside of reserves. The 24 Breaths open it at Lidong (立冬) and seal it at the solstice of Dongzhi (冬至). The tradition attaches to it the lower foundations, black and the salty flavour: the time of withdrawal and of patience.
